Laptop to Tv connection, image problem!!!

When I connected my compaq laptop to my Tv, it worked but a pop up showed on laptop, and i clicked OK. Then after that when i connect my laptop to the tv, the screen image has moved to the right, so some screen can't be seen on the tv.
When i try printing, the same problem occured, some of the image of the right isn't there... I tried many ways but not correcting the mistake.... please help!
