Sound out of earjack only

I get no sound from my HP dv 1000 laptop except thru the earjack plug?

Dear Sir,

Please consider getting to the Advanced Speaker Settings and change the settings from headphones to speakers and hence get the problem fixed.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply. I checked the advanced speaker settings and it was set to laptop monophone, which should be putting sound out of the laptop speaker...
