Hello,
i have recently built my computor and i'm having trouble installing windows vista. every time i get to the point where i select where to install vista i keep getting the same message "ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's bios". so i go to the bios and it says sata1, 2, 3 and 4 not detected. please help.

Hi Greg.
well I dont know for you but I would not install vista if i were you as there are a number of incompatibility issues that you will face, or that i guess that you are already facing with it. well if it is possible install another operating system that will leave you hassle-free. i can suggest windows vista or nt as substitute.

what motherboard are you using? It sounds like you have not enabled SATA in the bios.
