Sata Hdd not detected
Solved/Closed
Hello,
I got a P4 with a mobo Asrock P4VM890 and an old samsung IDE Hdd. What happens is that I bought a barracuda 250Gb 16Mb SATA Hdd and is detected by bios, I saw that the configuration was on non-raid setting and everything seemed to be fine but when I start-up windows everything goes just as normal but the new drive doesn't show up in "My computer" folder and there is an icon on the tray that is used to disconnect a periferal device mencioning the name of the drive. I've seen the system info and the drive shows up there. Anyone got any clue about this?
Ty and good evening

The drive will not show until it is formatted.
Right click My Computer - select Manage - select Disk Management you should see your drive and be able to format it

You might be able to repair the MBR using this software:
