My Disk Drive doesn't work

Hello,
My DVD drive does not work on my Gateway Laptop, Every time i put a disk in it doesnt even recognise it. My disk drive is a TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R2002. Please Help.

Dear Sir,

Please try plugging it to an alternative USB port to see whether it works then.
