Sims 2 and windows 7

Hello,
I am having trouble with sims 2 on my computer. I have windows 7..
I put the disk in, but it wont do anything at all. Like:
Load.
Let me install it.
It makes all those noises but it just stops after a while, and if i click on 'my computer' it says it can 'read' it. But it just wont do anything. I have looked EVERYWHERE. And no-one seems to have needed help with my sort of problem, haha. Please help D:
