Hello,
I purchased a 2nd laptop and am trying to add it to the Linksys router with no success. I also forgot the password. I have typed 192.168.1.1./ and put admin in the user column first, which gives me an error message 401. I typed "admin" in the password column and it has been trying to pull up the security window but only goes 1/3 across the bar. I really need some help.

You don't need to ADD a computer to a router. You correctly set the SSID and security key (wep or wap) on the new laptop and it should connect to the router. I assume you didn't write these two items on paper and tape them to bottom of router when you did the router set-up years ago. There is a program you can download to display them on your OLD laptop.
