Hello,
After recent automatic updates my HP laptop does not recognize my cd/dvd rom combo drive. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver that HP/Windows said was the most current one. It did not help even though I later rebooted. I ran Windows/Microsoft diagnostics including FIX IT which scanned the laptop and automatically recognized the problem it was due to registry corruption. It said it fixed it and resolved the issue, however it still does not read or see the drive letter. Attempting to load a CD to see if it would fix the problem via plug n play did not fix it either.
Anyone have any suggestions for a beginning to medium level computer savvy consumer?
Thanks!
