Problem with compaq windows xp

Hello
i have a compaq laptop windows xp home edition hp
and when i switch it on it starts to load the windows xp part
then goes black but still has the mouse on the screen and all of the noises
wat can i do to fix this??

Please check whether the problem is coming from its graphic card.
