Select all the data. Click conditional formatting (under Format).
Select "Cell value is", "Equal to", in the box type in ="Sunday"
Click "format..." then "Patterns" and select the color you want to fill the cells with.

You can use Weekday function. How ever, in conditional format, you may not have more than three conditions. So if you plan to color each day differently you have to use macro
