ipod not playing songsClosed

Question

Hello, 

i have a i pod classic 80gb and just brought it second hand of a mate went to charge it last night on my net book asus (i don't have i tunes) but when i went to use it today it said that i have no songs but when i plug it into y net book through the media player i can see all my songs and play them plus when i went to add new songs it put the on and used the memory but i cant play them either.   
can anyone help

Please have the iPod restored to factory settings in order to get the problem solved.

you must have itunes. Apple products depends on iTunes, and iTunes depends on quicktime. please have quicktime and iTunes installed. Then restore and sync.
