Vista service pack problem

my laptop is stuck on "stage 3 of 3 100% do not turn off your computer" it is in a constant loop has been for over a day, it is trying to install vista service pack, how do i stop this without losing my data, my laptop didnt come with a disc, so i have no idea how to get laptop back to normal please help

Hi,
try this 1,
1)When you switch ON your laptop, keep pressing "F8" key to get "Windows
Advanced Options"( if boot menu appears click on "Esc" key and keep pressing
F8 key)
2) Select the option "Safe Mode".
3)Click Start-->type system restore in the Start Search box or Search programs
and files, and then click System Restore under the Programs section.
3) Now perform system restore
