Windows starts but no start menu display

Hello,

Please helpppp.......
just yesterday, i shutdown my hp pavillion dv3 laptop notebook. done nothing but to shutdown. and after a few minutes i turned it on, the windows started but the start menu didn't appear. only black screen.
I've tried removing the battery and the cord, pressed the power for 30 seconds... etc. nothing worked. please help guys.. i beg you all....
