Fingerprint reader not showing up on websites

I have a Dell Studio 1535 laptop and the fingerprint reader is suddenly not working on websites with Internet Explorer 8. Digital Persona's settings are right but I have to open the fingerprint reader manually and go to manage passwords to discover my stored passwords. The program is not recognizing the right websites.
