External dvdrw not working

Hello,

when I plug my asus external dvdrw it it first show the device and just after that it unplugs, and when I look at device manager first it becomes one of my dvd/cd-rom drives and then goes under the universal serial bus controllers, do you have any suggestion to solve this problem?

Hi there,

To start change your data cable and try with it connecting to another usb port as well as test it on another system then revert back with changes observed.
