Laptop wont read HDClosed

Question

Hello, 
         When booting my sons laptop I receive an error that the laptop cant read the HD. I tried to boot from a CD and it will only read the CD-ROM every now and then. Once im able to boot from the CD I tried to FDISK and reinstal and it keeps telling me that it can find the HD. What can I do besides go and buy another HD?

Hi there,

Before purchasing another hard drive please check in bios if its being detected or not.Then revert back with more information also your system specs and model for further help on it.
