Ipod nano wont charge

i have a 4th g. ipod nano and it wont charge? i plugged it in my computer and ihome it wont charge, my guess is water damnage? but it hasnt been near water? about an hour ago i reset my ipod and as i plug it in to the computer i turn it on and it works, as i hold the play button to turn off the ipod it gets a random bit of "charge" back but it still wont charge?!?!?! lol help!
