My ipod wont turn on

Hello, I was playing games and my iPod died becasue the battery was low and so i plugged it into the wall charger over night and it did nothing. It wont turn on or even connect to the computer. Nothing is working i tried holding the sleep/wake and home button and nothing.

I know! Mine died this morning so I plugged it into itunes to charge. Now it wont even recognize my ipod. And I dont think its charging on the wall either! Whenever I click and hold one of the buttons for a few seconds the ipod logo comes up then disapers! Ahaha! I need help too! I looked on the computer and I think you can reset the ipod by holding down the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time for at least ten seconds or until apple logo appears. But, I don't know, good luck!
