Hi there,
Restart system and when prompted for disk check press any key to skip it.The more files you have on C: drive will take more time for disk checking.
Thanks

Hello Jeany,
You and I will both agree that it should not take hours for a disk check.
Please tell me does it happen at start-up? If some files are corrupted.
Regards

This can happen when the disk drive is near total failure. You will probably need to replace the hard drive. A good repair shop might be able to recover some of the data from the drive.
Good Luck
