Make room on my iPod for new songs by deletin

Hello,
I have 7500 songs on my iPod and it is full. I want to be able to put new songs on. I want to be able to delete songs that are on the iPod to make room. How do I do that or is it even possible?

ive delteted hours of music on my8g ipod and it still says i have no room what do i do?
