Microphone is SUPER quiet.

Hello,

I used skype for the first time last night. It worked great, except that I didn't have a webcam. So today I got a Logitech webcam, installed the software and everything. The webcam works fine. But now the microphone won't work. If I tap the microphone, or blow, it detects that sound. But no amount of messing around with the sound settings on my control panel is helping. Any other ideas?
