Black screen

Hello, upon starting computer everything seems to go as normal except my screen stays black, an something clicks repeatedly, its hp pavillion g6o 100em. i emailed hp support about said problem and was told we cant help as your warranty is up. i knew that. but only asked them to tell me what the problem was so i could sort it myself. they refused and said if we told you what the prob is that is considered warranty support. i only wanted to no the prob, can anyone help, i,ve tried all that hard restart to no avail, please help, one satisfied hp customer.....not. and never again will i buy any crap off this shoddy outfit
