Solution 1:
Just change the SATA mode to IDE/Compatible Mode in BIOS. But the
performance decreases.
Solution 2:
1) Download nlite software & install it
https://www.nliteos.com/download.html
2) Download SATA Driver from this link
For INTEL based laptop, click on the below link and download the driver.
http://www.4shared.com/file/212878560/6a708ade/f6flpy3286.html
For AMD based laptop, click on the below link and download the driver.
http://download397.mediafire.com/ssvyyap51vfg/azwrxx0xkrp/AMD+SATA+AHCI+Controller+Driver.rar
After downloading ---> right click on downloaded file--->select "Extract to
<that particular filename>" (Note : You can use winrar to extract the files)
3) Place the "Windows xp" cd in the drive.
4) Open nlite application---> click on "Browse" and navigate it to your cd drive
that contains xp cd placed in that drive. ----> then it asks you where to save the
files ----> just navigate to your desired location ---> click on "New Folder" button
and select that folder --->click on OK---> Now it copies the windows xp files. After
that click on Next--->Next.
5) In task selection --->Click on "Drivers" and "Bootable ISO" options -->click on
"Next"
6) Now click on "Insert" ---> click on "Multiple Folder"----> Navigate to the driver's
extracted location and select the that particular drivers folder (If its AMD based
laptop go to the extracted folder "AMD SATA AHCI Controller Driver -->RAID7-->
select the folder "x86")--->Click on "All" button --> Click on "OK"--->in "Text mode
integration options", Select all the drivers and click on OK--->Click on "Next".
7) Click on "Yes" to start the process. Then click on "Next".
8) In "Mode" option select your choice whether you want to make image or burn
it to cd.
9) If you want to make ISO file then click on "Make ISO" button
10) After burning this slipstream xp, now try to install it.
Good luck.

Hello,
In step 4 you have to navigate it to your cd\dvd drive that contains xp cd placed in that drive location.
At the final stage if you want to burn it your can burn the slipstream OS or you can make ISO file and then
burn it to the cd.

Didn't find the answer you are looking for?
Ask a question
1. Back up all your files (data, pictures, etc.)
Reminder: You might need to download all XP (audio, ehternet, video) drivers
from third parties, because HP or others might not support old OS
drivers
2. When you restart your computer, make sure you press F10 or whatever F keys
that can take you to the BIOS setting.
3. Go to the "Advanced" pull down menu
4. Go down (highlight) "Sata Controller Mode" and change it to "IDE"
5. Go up and disable "Sata2 Controller"
6. Leave "Sata1 Controller" enabled.
Now, put the XP CD into the driver and restart your computer, make sure it boots from the Disk. Keep an eye on the message, it should say "press any key to boot from CD.
The rest is just follow the instructions.
Note: It's going to ask you to choose a partition and make sure you format the partition. Good luck!
