Well it all depends what you use for downloading whatever the file type is and from where its being downloaded,just for an example if using firefox browser and downloading directly from it,this will be stored in ''user account>download folder.If using internet download manager then its saved in ''documents>downloads and file type folder.Now if downloading from Rapidshare.com as free user its limited to 1 download per hour or by size thus if already downloaded a file then needs to wait till its available for your ip as a track is kept for everything.
