Dell dimension 8200 P4 2 gig hrtz

Hello,
I have a problem with my PC, I had a processor fan fail and I replaced it, now it takes about an hour for win xp to load and the programs take 30 min if they are small, Any ideas? pls help me ty

Hello,

Verify the contact between the CPU and the radiator of the fan. If this contact is not perfect the CPU is not sufficiently refreshed. Then it works slown to avoid to burn.

Okay, I'm not sure how to check the contact between processor and the heat sink, I replaced the fan with a 4 pin fan into the 3 pin socket on the motherboard, Not sure if I need to change wiring order or what but it runs so very slow atm, I reinstalled vista and it's on it's 3rd day of installation...
