two same desktop iconsSolved/Closed

Question

Hello, 

whenever i place a shortcut or icon on the desktop two same icons are placed on the desktop. if i delete one icon the other one also gets deleted. help p

dear brian thanks for your suggestion. but system scan shows that there is no virus or trojan. still trying to solve it

hi ambucias, 

i installed free registry cleaner.

then i deleted all shell folders in the current user and user profiles.

rebooted. the problem got solved
