Wireless internet access

Hello,

I have a wireless modem. A lap top which is in the same room near the modem gets internet perfectly but an other laptop in a room 21m away most of the time looses the internet signal. So I was advised to buy an ethernet homeplug which I pluged to the electricity connected it with an ethernet wire to the wireless modem. Also i was told that I need a Powerline wireless Access Point to plug im the electricity near the other laptop (21m from the wireless modem).
The problem is that now on both laptops I'm seeing that I can connect to my modem and to this Access point. However when I click on the Powerline accss I don't have internet on both laptops. Do I need to configure settings on both laptops? If I put the Powerline settings, do I lose the ones I already have? Can I have both settings on each laptop so that I can use it anywhere in the house? Please I need help!
