Hard drive clicks but wont boot all the way

Hello, Please can you help:



<config>Windows Vista the hard drive will go to a windows didn't start properly do you wish to do the automatic repair or go to windows neither will work the auto repair goes to blk screen with whhite mouse start windows goes to blk screen. never see safe mode option or anything

it is an hp computer and wont let you get into recovery partition and if try to use recovery discks goes to blk screen with white arrow for mouse pointer
