Hello, i got an HP Pavilion dv5-1040ev and it has the following problem:

I press the start up button and the leds are on, bios starts normally but after this a black screen comes up! I' ve searched the net for a while did some tips but nothing really fixed it! Can anyone help me? thanks very much!!

My opinion...it is probably a graphic problem or something...but still do not know how to fix it...

Question1: Does anyone knows if my graphic card is on-board or not?

Thanks....well, i' ve already tried to do a HDD reset by pressing the startup button for a couple of sec but it didn' t work! I also tried to get out and put again the RAM cards but still there is the same problem...

Also, i saw insede bios that may be relative to the problem. there is a tab named error logs and i have many times the code 30f0 which according to hp is system board problem!

question: how am i supposed to clean them? :/ thanks...

Try to connect your pc with a monitor, if it work, it's probaly your graphic card which is defective.

Reagards!

yes....but 1st in the f5 key there is not something that shows "change screen" and second after this the screen does not change...so something else must be the fault!...right?
