dont need to shutdown ..just do 'standby' then login , hope that will be ok ..but dont know the rootcouase
also you have to remember the options to do standby without seeing the screen

try this one ....
right click the "properties"on the desktop or screen then click the screen saver then click "power"
after you click power click "Power Schemes" click always on after then select always on
then for the "settings for always on power scheme" click all never then apply and ok... or simply click control panel on the startup menu
then click performance and maintainance then click power option then Power Schemes" click always on after then select always on
then for the "settings for always on power scheme" click all never then apply and ok....
