Please help with wireless connection

Hello,

My neighbor and I have connected a wireless card to my PC. Since then everything seems good as far as signal (full strength). i see my neighbors wireless connection in range, I get like 7 bars. The problem we are running into is when clicking connect it gives me an error message saying that network is no longer in range and it doesn't prompt me to enter a password. Can anyone make any since of this message. Now keep in mind his security is locked and we are trying to login in to his security login but it doesn't even ask for the password. can't figure it out.
