HDMI laptop to tv sound issues

Hello,
Have Toshiba 505 laptop with hdmi output. hooked it to sony bravia tv and had
wonderful sound on both laptop and tv. for months until today. now the sound is gone on tv.
any suggestions for what caused this sudden loss of sound on what was a perfectly working laptop to tv hdmi connection. testing hdmi advanced tap and test results in
the test tone playing on the TV so the cable is good.
real player on laptop plays but not on tv.
suggestions?

Hello,

Try this 1

Set the "HDMI Output" as default. Follow the below instructions

Click on Start --> Control Panel --> Sound --> In "Playback" tab --> Click on

"HDMI Output" --> Click on "Set Default" button --> Click on OK.
