Hello,
So i went and bought tiger to upgrade my old imac g4....was going fine until the end of disc 1 it all of a sudden went to a blue screen with nothing but the cursor. I let it sit there for over an hour and nothing. I restarted it with the disc and without the disc and still nothing but the blue screen. I even restarted it with disc 2 and still nothing. Any ideas??? I believe that panther was totally erased during the installation of tiger.......

several possibilities

first of all your sys may not have had at least 256 mb of ram

second If older I mac may have had only a small Hard drive and by time you finished install not enough space to run start up script

third the HD may have had issues (did you do a disk maintenance check pre install?)

To check for Hd issue place Disk 1 in drive and boot using it (Hold "C" while Computer boots)
Once past welcome (select language window) use drop down menus on top bar find and run DISK UTILITIES
