I have a Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit 2008 Laptop and appart from a few viruses here and there, and the bottom getting very hot at times, my lap top has been running beautifully until this morning when it would not start.
I press the power button and the lights and fan come on for a second or two, then completely shut off.
I've tried taking the battery out and all that, but to no avail. My husband took the back off to see if anything was melted, but it looked fine.
The only thing I can think of is that I recently (two weeks ago) changed the setting so that when I close the lid and reopen it will not ask for a password but just sleep. Since the change it sometimes takes a few tries to get the lap top to "wake up".
P.S. I tried the upside down thing, and also tried starting the laptop with the quick start button, but this doesn't help. Please someone give me some advice :/
