Laptop won't turn on -- with or w/o adapter!

Hi there,

I was working on my laptop the other day and all of a sudden it shutdown on me. On previous days it indicated that the ac adapter wasn't plugged in (when in fact it was). BUT on the day my laptop shutdown, there was still enough power on my battery for it to continue without the power from the ac adapter (that's what worries me).

Now, none of the lights turn on with the ac adapter plugged in. When I press and hold the power button it indicates that the battery doesn't have enough power i.e. battery light blinks red. When I press the power button, the power light turns blue and then turns off.

I've tried the solution of taking out the battery and holding the power button for 30 secs etc. and that didn't work. Any help would be appreciated!
