Hello,
every thing on my computer all the sudden turn to lnk files and i was already having trouble with exe files now all three files don't work ( com, exe, and lnk.) i have never even noticed system restore until now but i cant access it in anyway. Not even with . The only thing that works is the internet (Google Chrome) and stuff that doesn't run with exe, com, etc. Also i cant download anything at all. I have Windows XP SP2. This all happened yesterday when i downloaded a media player. I would tell you the name but i cant look at my documents explore.exe is not working. The error message is (to open this file windows needs to know what program created it). All in all please help D:

Hello to you both,

Lets try this to find out the programme in question:

To help you, I must make a diagnostic and to do so, I require a log.

Open this link and download ZHPDiag :

https://www.zebulon.fr/telechargements/securite/systeme/zhpdiag.html

Register the file on your Desktop.

Double click on ZHPDiag.exe and follow the instructions.

the tool created two icons ZHPDiag and ZHPFix (we will use ZHPFix at the next step).

Double click on the short cut ZHPDiag on your Destktop.

Click on the Magnifying glass and run the analysys.

Wait for the tool to finished (maybe a long time)

Close ZHPDiag.

To transmit the report, click on this link :

https://authentification.site

Click on Parcourir and search the directory where you installed ZHPDiag (usually C:\Program Files\ZHPDiag).

Select the file ZHPDiag.txt.

Click on "upload »

Copy the url and post it here

SIMPLE WAY

Just download this fix from another PC and copy it your PC.

or

TO OPEN BROWSER

Try this to open your browser

Right click on your browser-Select ''Run as''-Uncheck ''protect my computer against unauthorized program activity''-apply

If this can open your browser then download the fix

TO VIEW FOLDERS

I'm sure you can open Task manager, and i know that you cant push explorer.exe via FILE-NEW TASK

But click on File-New task and type this

C:

this should make C drive visible, similarly for other drives. If you have MBAM or other security stuffs, you can try to open as said before or renaming to .bat as .com,.exe doesnt work

That does not help i don't have antivirus because it was causing problems. I have been looking for new one but this problem showed up. i cant open any files bat, com, exe, Reg, lnk. I just want this to work the computer was working perfectly before this happened. Yes you are right about task manager i can see C: when i type it in.
