New laptop screen isn't working

Hello,
I am Jackson and I have been facing some problems with my laptop screen. I had just bought a new laptop screen because my old one had cracked. I had replaced the crack one with the new one but all I see are lines now. The laptop is still working because it is currently working with an external monitor. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

The most likely cause of your problems is that the screen is not compatible with the laptop. ie you have the wrong screen.
Can you return the screen?

Thank you for your reply. The laptop I have is a Samsung RV520. I bought a LTN156AT09 but my original was a LTN156AT15 but I was told by the site i had bought it from was fully compatible and interchangeable screen models.
