Cannot connect to web on desktop

Hello,

my grandson was watching a movie on my 2 month old computer and must have pushed something??i was online in the morning and it as fine.I have an active internet connection which I'm using now on my netbook but I can't get web page up on my desktop....I keep getting internet explorer cannot display web page I have trouble shooted and it says nothings wrong.I'm not even able to bring up a page to download any tools.i am thinking he pushedsomething on the keyboard(hes 4 yrs old)or right clicked any advice?I tried system restore and it still didn't help.
