Could't Hear sound other than system sound !!

Hello,
I cant hear sound while playing audio/video files in my pc but i can hear the system files clearly but not other sounds , in voice chatt i hear other side voice very much low . Please give me a suggestion that what gone wrong and what to be get rectified...
