Shortcuts gone

Hello,

I have the same problem as a previous questioner. My Word icon shortcut from my desktop as well as my quicklaunch tray disappeared. I didn't think that would be a problem, until I tried to open Microsoft Office from my Programs list. Microsoft Office applications are no longer on my Programs list. Only saved documents are still accessible.

Do you face this error only with microsoft office alone?

did you check other startup programs?

Do you receive any errors about harddrive ?
