Slow Laptop

Hello,

I have a dell laditude c600 laptop, Its extremely slow and the mouse moves in random directions for no reason, as a result I am un able to use my laptop any more. Should I get a new hard drive? Should I format my hard drive? or what should I do? Please

That computer is probably 10 years old. I suggest you either install a fresh copy of Windows XP or Ubuntu Linux.
