What happened to my laptop , help me please !

Hello, i have a presario CQ56/COMPAQ
The other day i turned on my laptop and it was up and running as usual then it shut down i tried restarting it but it didn't work .my screen was black but i could still see writing on the screen and the lights were on but the screen was black , I tried clicking buttons and it mad noises and but it didn't work either . i looked around for a solution i tried taking the battery out and the power cable that didn't work either . does someone have a solution to my problem ....... please help me !!!
