I cannot access my Western Digital hard drive. I continually get the message: You must format your drive F: before using.. Do you wish to format ??

This probably means that the hard drive or file system is broken. Windows gives this message when it can't read the drive.
It just might the MBR (Master Boot Record) that is damaged. You can get instructions to fix the MBR at this site:
