Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215 which is approximately 5 years old. I am getting the BSOD with the message Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area. I would like to wipe my laptop to factory settings. I have tried the F8, 0, F12 options to bring up the Advanced Boot Options. When I select Repair Your Computer (which is suppose to bring up the options to restore) it goes into the windows loading files then into the screen where Microsoft is starting up. The scrolling green bar then freezes after about 1 minute of loading then goes right back to the BSOD with the same error message. This happens if I try to repair, all safe modes, and launch with last known good configuration. I do have an external hard drive that I have everything on so I am not concerned with wiping it. I do not have another laptop or computer that I am able to do other tests on. If someone could please help me I would appreciate it.

Thanks
Missy

* Almost forgot. The technical information error message at the bottom of the BSOD is...
*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x8A740000, 0x00000000, 0x87c83843, 0x00000000)

The "Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area" probably indicates a hardware error (possibly an error on a memory card). I don't think it's wise to attempt a Windows recovery until you correct the hardware problem. If you have multiple memory cards I suggest you try to run with only one card. That will pin-point the bad card.

Good luck
