Hello,
I have previously asked this but i hope to rephrase my statementmay be someone will get it and shed some light.

I have installed windows 7 Ultimate from windows 7 home premium in my compaq presario cq56. Issue is that after all has gone well; "windows is starting for the first timebla bla bla.." it tell me "windows is shutting down" and thats it. it shows black screen. After i restart by pressing ctrl+alt+del it restart. but just before it can load windows, it shous this annoying black screen with a blinking cursor.
I have reinstalled the windows 3 times and i get the same.

i had previously phrased the issue like this https://ccm.net/forum/affich-635214-upgrading-win-7-home-basic-to-win-7-ultimate#p635533

Please assist. Any suggestion is highly appreciated. Im ready to try anything.

regards

Hi,
After a very hard thinking and weird trials, I sorted myself out. May be some one will get this problem and will need to sort it out this is all I did.

I reformatted the disc completely win Win 98 OS. Installed the Win 7 Ultimate and it worked. The issue might have been brought about by the partition that had the recovery files...so get rid of it.

Happy pitah
