I am having a problem with my Asus laptop....

Hello, I have an asus laptop,when i was working with it,i inserted a DVD player in it ,suddenlly it shut down ,and it was written on the screen : rebbot and select propper boot devoice OR insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key... i tried to make it work but still it is not. What shall i do? Thank you for ur help..

It is possible that:
1. The hard drive has failed and the laptop is attempting to boot from the DVD drive (or is that a USB DVD player that you attached?)
2. You have change the boot order in the BIOS so that the DVD drive is the first drive the laptop attempts to boot from

If you remove the DVD does the laptop boot?

unfortunately it is not working.Regarding to your question ,no it is not a usb dvd player,,i dont know what is its name,but it is a normal laptop dvd player, . i tried what ever you said ,but it was written on the screen :missing operating system...What can i do now?
