Seagate 500 GB USB Harddisk not detecting

Hello,

I am using IBM thinkpad T410 WITH WINDOWS XP before 4 month i am facing same problem my USB HDD (Seagate FreeAgent Go) is not detecting but after 15 days i had connected my hDD to my laptop it is detecting

But now i tried to connect my USB HDD but it is not detecting, it shows only one drive but when i click on drive the massge came drive was not accesable

S/N 2GE6D4RJ

please help me my very imp. data was stored in the HDD

You might try the following:
Go to your device manager---->Double click USB Host Controller----> go to driver tab-----> Uninstall all drivers--->

This procedure will remove any problem you may have caused by incorrect removal of the USB plug. It will not fix a failed hard drive.
