Window 7 issue

Hello everyone!! I just came across an issue that I couldn't find n answer to ANYWHERE.. So I decided to try my luck here. I just recently update my window from vista to 7.. But after I use my recovery disk to restore all my previous file/software, it automactically went back to vista.. I know using recovery disc mean restoring it to factory condition but is it possible I can keep all the previous file/software/driver without it going back to vista? Thanks you in advance

When upgrading from VISTA to Windows 7 you have the choice to either erase VISTA or upgrade in place. Upgrade in place should keep your programs. Windows 7 will decide what drivers to use. It sounds like you choose the erase option the first time.
