                    I assume you did not download an updated video driver after you re-installed XP.  You might have the original driver that was written before wide screen monitors were common.  This might cause the wild size changes on your screen.  You should get the latest video driver and then set your resolution to match the "native mode" of your monitor.

                    Destructive boot?   I'm not sure what that is.  If you mean a full re-install of Widows that re-formats your hard disk.  Sure, go ahead.  That should/might fix all your problems. But, you will need to reinstall all you applications programs.

    Good deal. Im gonna try that after I get a new comp. just incase i DO mess something upsince i need this to find loads for my old man. Ok well I got the persistence error prob fixed it was the grafics driver but everything still ooks the same. Its set to the recomm. setting witch is 1680x1050.
