How do I factory reset my toshiba sat. laptop

Hello, I am try to factory reset my toshiba sat. l300. 15 inch lap top with out disc. I am having some trouble.
I first turned the lap top off by holding the power button for ten seconds. I then held down zero and tapped on the power button. I got the peeping sound, but no warning screan. The computer just starts up normally and takes me to the user menu. What do I do? Do I need to put in the password for the user. I have tried it, but the computer just starts up as normal. NO RECOVERY OPTIONS. PLEASE HELP CHEERS
